Move aside, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson. There is (potentially) a new unexpected celebrity couple in town—Nicki Minaj and Eminem.
On Friday night, the Barbie-loving female rapper posted a video to her Instagram lip-syncing to a very suggestive verse of YG’s new single, Big Bank, where she proudly raps about how she “met Slim Shady,” and, most notably, says “once he go black, he’ll be back again.”
Understandably, the clip caused an immediate stir on social media, leading one of her fans to ask her what we were all wondering. “You dating Eminem???” the commenter asked, to which Minaj simply replied, “Yes.”
As if that confirmation wasn’t shocking enough, Eminem, 45, also commented on Instagrams. He wrote, “Girl you know it’s true.” His comment was followed by one more reply from Nicki: “Babe, I thought we were gonna keep it on the low til the wedding,” Minaj replied. “Yikes. I’ll talk to you when I get home.”
If Onika Tanya Maraj was really dating Marshall Matters, it wouldn’t come much as a surprise as she’s had her fair share of rappers in the past, including Nas, Meek Mill and Love & Hip Hop star Safaree Samuels.
Still, Eminem recently told Vulture that it’s been hard for him to date since his divorce from Kim Scott in 2006. “It’s tough. Since my divorce I’ve had a few dates and nothing’s panned out in a way that I wanted to make it public,” he explained. “Dating’s just not where I’m at lately.”
So it’s not so far fetched to think that these very forthcoming declarations of love are just another PR stunt ahead of Nicki Minaj’s new album titled Queen. Something tells us we’re being trolled.
