A historic all-female spacewalk was cancelled due to the lack of M-sized suits, according to NASA. Talk about an epic wardrobe malfunction!
Days before the first-ever all-female spacewalk was planned, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration announced it will now be conducted by a man and a woman—astronauts Nick Hague and Christina Koch—instead of Koch and astronaut Anne McClain.
According to NASA, there’s only one spacesuit that best fits both female astronauts onboard the International Space Station. “McClain learned during her first spacewalk that a medium-size hard upper torso—essentially the shirt of the spacesuit—fits her best,” NASA announced earlier this week. “Because only one-medium size torso can be made ready by Friday, March 29, Koch will wear it.”
Of course, when the all-female spacewalk that we’ve been all waiting for since 1963, Twitter had a lot to say. Click through our photo gallery above to see their out-of-this world reactions.
