Did Trump Really Call Meghan Markle Nasty? Here’s The Truth

Though the Duchess of Sussex is still on maternity leave, there probably is another reason why she won’t be meeting the president of the United States during State visit to the U.K. According to reports, Donald Trump called Meghan Markle nasty in an interview with a tabloid ahead of his big trip to Britain.

In the audio, the head of State can clearly be heard saying: “No, I didn’t know she was nasty,” when answering a question on whether he knew Prince Harry’s wife was very critic of him during his 2016 election campaign.

Despite his unfortunate remarks, Donald Trump also noted that it was “nice” to have an “American princess” as part of the British royal family, and even added he was sure she would “do excellently.”

People on social media were quick to point out that the pejorative name “nasty” is one that rings out with some significance as Donald Trump seems to reserve it for women exclusively—like that time he infamously interrupted Hillary Clinton during the last presidential debate to call her a “nasty woman.”

So even if he says his remarks where taken out of context, something tells us he actually called Meghan Markle nasty. And that “something” is an actual video of him saying those exact words.
