Kaley Cuoco’s New Show Is Pivoting Her Career from Comedy to Drama

This is no bazzinga. The Big Bang Theory actress is set to star in a new series that is far from being funny nor geeky. Kaley Cuoco’s new show, The Flight Attendant, is a thriller drama that will air exclusively on the new streaming platform from TBBT’s parent network, Warner Bros., set to launch in early 2020.

The Flight Attendant, based on the eponymous 2018 novel by Chris Bohjalian, will star Cuoco as the titular flight attendant who unexpectedly wakes up hungover next to a dead body in a hotel room, and doesn’t know if she’s the killer. She will also serve as the series’ executive producer.

In an official statement, Kaley Cuoco expressed her excitement over her new project with Warner Bros., calling the network her “home away from home.” She added: “I couldn’t be more excited to continue this incredibly collaborative and gratifying relationship. They’re stuck with me now!”

News of Kaley Cuoco’s new show comes just a couple months after wrapping 12 seasons with The Big Bang Theory—and reportedly earning $24 million throughout the process.

Will this bold career move prove there’s more to Kaley Cuoco than dumb blonde Penny?
